Hassan Medical University Hassan was created in 2006 and is one of the country’s newest government medical schools. It is located in Hassan, Karnataka, and is often referred to as HIMS Hassan. HIMS Hassan is an NMC-approved institution having ties to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

It is located in Sri Chamarajendra Hospital Campus, Hassan Hassan – 573201 Karnataka, India. Hassan is located 183 kilometers from west Bangalore and 980 meters above sea level. The Medical School at the Hassan Institute was formed in 2006.

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.

1. Campus: The administrative building of the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences has four updated lecture halls, an examination hall, a demonstration hall, and a dissection hall, all of which are well-ventilated and have good airflow.
2. Lab: The Library also has 15 air-conditioned computers available to students, all with access to the Internet and Heli-Net for online research.
3. Library: The college’s central library is 1,718 square feet in size and has seating for 506. It has various resources, such as 8594 medical books and 110 national and international journal titles. There are 728 audio/video cassettes, 250 electronic journals, and 155 electronic books available in the Central Library. The library contains a separate reading room and reference section for students and faculty and a Kannada and English newspaper section. 
4. Hospitals: Patients may choose from one of almost 750 beds at the affiliated “Sri Chamarajendra Hospital,” which is part of the institute. 
5. Hostels: There are 264 beds in the hostel, split evenly between male and female students, and a 1,900-square-foot dining hall and kitchen connected to the building.
6. Food: It has a separate visitors’ hall, a recreation hall, a prayer room, and R.O. purified drinking water for its residents. It also has daily newspapers in English and Kannada.
7. Transportation: It would take 3 hours and 4 minutes to reach the Institute of Medical Sciences from the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna train station, which is 179 kilometers away. It’s 181 kilometers from the Kempegowda City Bus Stand, yet the trip only takes 3 hours and 6 minutes, thanks to the 24/7 bus service. The distance between the school and Kempegowda Airport is around 204 km.

Scholarships

Students from low-income families may qualify for financial aid from the university. The government has developed several programs, and the student is free to choose from among them. Both the central Indian government and the state government of Karnataka provide scholarships to deserving students.India’s government provides laptops and scholarships to members of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
