About College

Southern Karnataka is home to the city of Chamarajanagar. The district government offices are located here at Chamarajanagar. In 1997, the government of Karnataka separated the district of Chamarajanagar from the larger community of Mysore to advance health, education, and social justice in the state. The section is home to the most significant population of forest-dwelling tribes, including the Soligas, Yeravas, JenuKurubas, and Betta Kurubas. The government of Karnataka approved the medical college in 2013–14, and the school was given authority to provide 150 MBBS seats beginning in 2016 to provide medical services to the area.

The district of Chamarajanagar is strategically located on national highways 948, 181, and 766, making it an ideal location for a medical institution dedicated to producing the best medical minds in the state and providing the best health care to the residents of Chamarajanagar and the bordering districts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

There are now 750 medical graduates being nurtured at the institution, along with 200 paramedical students, 85 B.Sc. (Nursing), and 3 B.Sc. (Allied Health Sciences) graduates. From the following 2020-21 school year forward, the institution will be able to enrol 100 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students and 60 Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Science students. Additional University has filed for 65 graduate student seats across 12 departments beginning in the 2021-22 school year—an institution with more than 200 competent physicians, 250 capable nurses, and 300 hardworking support personnel.

Reviews Of Parents/Students

  • A relatively recent, well-equipped, and highly-taught district hospital with 650 available beds, located near both Bangalore and Mysuru. The admissions office is well-run and ordered, and prospective students may get a list of required papers and helpful guidance from college staff members after attending the NEET counselling session. There are around 150 students in each MBBS/MS/MD/Diploma class and 10 instructors in roughly 19 departments. The faculty is highly educated, with some holding three or four doctorates, and is kind and welcoming to students. Excellent instruction is provided, and various teaching tools (models, experiments, specimens, etc.) are used well in the classroom and laboratory. Cadavers are used to teach anatomy to a class of 150 pupils. Gaining a lot of hospital-based clinical experience. Patients are referred from the twenty to thirty communities nearby. Multiple operations are now underway. Unfortunately, there is currently no laparoscopy treatment option. 4–5 daily clinical hours.
  • Since this is the sole healthcare option in the whole district, students at the medical school with the most patients in the Hospital get the most hands-on experience in the field. The first year of medical school is intense since there is so little time to learn the material and adjust to the new environment (only nine months). Clinical experience will be a part of the curriculum beginning in the second year. Learning to appreciate life and the graveness of one’s vocation via experience with the corpses of the deceased is an invaluable experience. Many physicians now employed by the University graduated as honour students, a testament to the quality of the undergraduate education provided by the department head of anatomy, Dr Girish Patil.
  • Four years and five months are required to complete the MBBS programme. Internship requirements total one year and are part of the curriculum. All necessary educational resources are available to students, and the campus environment is pleasant. Graduates of CIMS, Chamarajnagar, may expect to find satisfying careers with competitive salaries and stable employment prospects. At CIMS, you may find employment in both rural and urban settings.
