Bidar, Karnataka, is home to the prestigious Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences. Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 2005 and the current Dean of the college is Dr. Shivkumar Shetkar. MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.

Campus

The campus, which encompasses around 45 acres (18 hectares), is a single location housing the primary college and the administrative offices.

The campus can access reliable power and water supply most of the year. The mess connected to the UG dorms includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Students from each class elect delegates to operate the mess hall. Everyone chips in towards the mess hall’s costs.

A group of academics was tasked as an anti-ragging squad, and the campus is now ragging-free. Most hostels provide common areas with a TV and games.

The facility is conveniently located next to Nehru Stadium. The district administration swimming pool is within a scrollable distance of 300 meters (980 ft). BRIMS has sufficient parking space for two- and four-wheeled vehicles and separate UG and PG hostel buildings.

• Excellent teaching, excellent internship, strong teaching staff, and good exposure to a broad range of disorders were mentioned most positively, while less positive comments focused on the program’s shortcomings. Not a very clean and neat hostel with subpar cuisine. We are exceptionally well equipped with laboratories and practicals, and the posting is excellent here in Brims. However, the course is rigorous, and you must treat actual patients. Due to a shortage of medical professionals, the university offers an internship program that pays Rs. 22,000 monthly and gives students valuable patient care experience. – Arjun C.

• The academics are excellent, the dorms are passable, and the hostel is perfect; all things considered, it’s a decent government institution with the essential facilities I’ve previously talked about. In our institution, the pattern for university exams is two papers of each topic worth 100 points each for primary and one piece for minor subjects. – Ridhima S.
• The 5.5-year time restriction is insufficient to complete such a comprehensive school syllabus and become a licensed physician. Anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry are introduced as foundational, pre-clinical disciplines in the first year. The second, spanning 1 1/2 years, is the “honeymoon” phase of an Mbb’s existence. Optometry, otolaryngology, and general practice are all covered during the third year. The program concludes when your “real” medical career begins.
