Government Medical College Virudhunagar (GMCV) is a renowned educational institution providing quality medical education and healthcare services in the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu, India since the year 2021 led by Mr. J. Sangumani. He is also declared as the dean of the college. Since its inception, GMC has emerged as a leading medical college in the region, currently offering a flagship undergraduate course (4.5 years) with 150 seats per year.

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.
