About College

In Gabbur, Hubballi, the KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (Deemed-to-be-University) established the Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorsavirmath Medical College (GMMMC). It is KAHER’s second medical college. This 55-year-old college has 200 admissions in all PG programs and the majority of Super Specialty courses. The teaching hospital at the medical college has 2400 beds. A new medical college called Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorsavirmath Medical College is being constructed at Hubballi by KAHER, which will be among the well-established medical colleges. On the outskirts of Hubballi City in North Karnataka, the college has 34 acres of land.

The college currently occupies two locations. The Pre and Para Clinical departments have been operating for more than two years in KAHER’s facility, which was leased for 33 years. The two locations are 6 kilometers apart.

MBBS Course

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.

Highlights 

Infrastructure and Facilities

1. Campus: All of the student facilities, including a medical college, a 1000-bed teaching hospital, staff cutters and hostels, a playground, and an auditorium, are located on the 34-acre property.
2. Lab: There are four laboratories in the medical college. They have a Clinical Skill Lab that has been developed at par with the norms of the NMC. This helps the students to get hands-on training in this field.
3. Library: A 38-node library, four laboratories, a museum, an administration building, offices, and event areas, including the main room, are all included in the digital library.
4. Hospitals: There are 330 beds in the hospital of Jagadguru Medical College. The hospital is built up with all 13 OPDs, and the beds are placed departmentally. 
5. Hostels: There are separate hostel facilities provided for boys and girls.
6. Food: The canteen serves good quality food for the students.
7. Transportations: The college has 3 buses for the plying of the students to and fro from the campus. It is well connected via roads, and railways as well.
