About College

One of the top institutions, Jagadguru Jayadeva Murugarajendra Medical College (JJMMC), was founded by Bapuji Educational Association in 1965 with support from the Government of Karnataka, the Central Government, and the National Medical Commission. This institution was founded to train qualified healthcare professionals to meet the local population’s health care requirements. Hon. Secretary Sri. Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappaji’s vision and unwavering efforts have brought the institution to its pinnacle and turned Davangere into a center for learning.

The institution’s objectives are to:

MBBS Course

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.

Infrastructure and Facilities

1. Campus: It is spread over 25 acres of land.
2. Lab: The institution has a well-equipped laboratory that helps students to get hands-on training.
3. Library: Reading is the foundation of all learning. While reading for pleasure is a crucial and enduring ability, all students are encouraged to do so every day. The library plays a significant role in this, and JJM Medical College is lucky to boast Asia’s largest dedicated library, which is used by all the students and staff.
4. Hospitals: The campus has Bapuji Hospital which caters to the health needs of the people in the locality.
5. Hostels: Kaveri Womens Hostel, JJMMC International Hostel for Boys & Girls, and JJMMC Boys Hostel are available for the boys and girls students.
6. Food: The canteen serves healthy, hygienic food for the students.
7. Transportations: The school has 4 buses, 2 of which are powered by air conditioning, and all of them fulfill safety criteria following vehicle guidelines. This is to ensure a secure transit between the hostel and college and return to the hostel to pick up students for community-based visits.
