About College 

Established: In 1959, Kakatiya Medical College was established. 

Founder and Dean: The Director of Medical Services of AP, the Warangal District Collector, and the then-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, all actively participated in its founding. The Honourable Sri P. Karmarkar, Minister of Health, Government of India, inaugurated the college on July 23, 1959. It was housed in a Waddepally building that the Pingable family had donated. 

History: Since 1972, the college has offered graduate-level courses in all its departments. The dynamic principal of the college from 1960 to 1965, the Late Prof. T. Lakshminarayana, was the major architect responsible for the current condition of the college. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has recognized all PG programs. The Intermedics Sports Meet was held in a college in the academic year 2006–2007 with sponsorship by NTR UHS for the state’s dental and medical schools. Hon. C.M. Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy opened the new NMH hostel.

Location: Two structures house the engineering departments, canteen, Andhra Bank, and post office. The OP Block, TB Block, Lecture Hall, Clinical lab, and Mortuary have all been built by RMES on the grounds of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Warangal. The nation’s then Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, inaugurated the permanent campus in 1966. In February 1977, the AP Govt. seized control of the college from RMES. In 1997, the college affiliation was changed from Osmania University to Kakatiya University.

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology.
