About College

The Vokkaligara Sangha founded Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in 1980 and connected it with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, 30th Main Rd, near BDA Shopping Complex, Siddanna Layout, Banashankari Stage II, Banashankari, Bengaluru. On November 30, 1980 the college was established. 

The Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri R Gundu Rao, laid the foundation stone of the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital.

The Sangha chose Dr. M Basavaraju, Professor of Physiology, as Principal on January 1, 1981.

  • MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)

MBBS Course

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.

Step 11: Select Fees structure for 2023 and Brochure 2023 PDFs to be sent to your email.
Step 12: You will receive a Thank You message and will also get a call from an experienced college Student Counsellor for admission & fee structures information.

Infrastructure and Facilities

  1. Campus: There are a total of 14 acres dedicated to the facility.
  2. Laboratories: There is a specialized laboratory for each academic program at the university.
  3. Library: All students have access to the college library.
  4. Hospitals: Medical technology at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital includes ventilators, monitors, defibrillators, nebulizers, central oxygen delivery, and more.
  5. Hostel: Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences has two fully furnished and independent hostels for male and female students.
  6. Food: Sri Nidhi Sagar is the name of the hospital’s cafeteria, which serves all KIMS personnel and students. The institution has just opened a new cafeteria with all the latest conveniences.
  7. Transport: Five buses, including one mini-bus and two vans, are offered to students at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences as part of the institution’s transportation services.
