Kumudini Women’s Medical College (KWMC) is a famous private medical school affiliated with Dhaka University. It was founded in 2001. The Kumudini Welfare Trust established the Kumudini Women’s Medical College (KWMC). The Kumudini Welfare Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving Bangladesh’s healthcare system. KWMC is located in Mirzapur, Tangail, some 70 km north of the capital city of Dhaka. Since its inception in 2001, the institution has provided superior medical education to students. The Kumudini Welfare Trust established KWMC. Rai Bahadur Ranada Prasad Shaha is the founder of this college and Professor Dr Kazi Saifuddin Bennoor is the college’s current Dean.
Kumudini Women’s Medical College is a well-established medical college in Bangladesh committed to educating medical students in current medical science courses in a variety of specialties, including intense treatments and a practical understanding of operating rooms. The College features a modernized hostel accommodation. Currently, the hostel can accommodate all students and offer food and housing. The eating room is likewise located in a separate hall. There are communal areas with televisions. The students are in a safe and secure atmosphere. In the case of a medical emergency, all students are given the necessary care at the institution. Campus: The spacious campus with different buildings for different subjects makes it a unique place. There is a student Mess and Canteen with separate dining for International students.
Labs: Histology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, and Microbiology labs are present. Everyone is given access to the instruments, supplies, chemicals, glassware, microscopes, histology slides, etc. needed for training.
Library: Prof. M. A. Jalil Library is situated on the first floor of the college building. It provides seating arrangements for 150 students at a time.
Clinical rotations: Future doctors are given exposure to clinical rotations for patient care.
Hospitals: The founder of Kumudini Welfare Trust established Kumudini Hospital with 750 beds in 1944. Presently the hospital has a capacity of 1050 beds, organized by departments and service units.
Hostels: The College is fully residential and has adequate residential accommodation for all the enrolled students. It has separate dining rooms, study rooms, and club rooms. There are five hostels with a total of 1011 seats.
Food: The students are provided with a mess offering quality meals.
Transportation: The students get the transportation facilities to move around the college campus and to the nearby place.
Kumudini Women’s Medical College provides several scholarships to eligible and distinguished students. Students from families with economic hardship are given financial support by the college. Scholarships are also granted depending on students’ academic performance.
