About College 

The Madras Medical College, Chennai is a public college. It was established in 1833. The college is affiliated with the University of Madras, since 1857, and is the second oldest medical college in India. In 1988, the college was declared as an independent university and was named Madras Medical College and Research Institute. The government of Tamil Nadu funds the Madras Medical College and Hospital.

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college.
