Nanjing Medical University is a prestigious university with a history and traditions. It was one of the earliest universities in China to permit graduate students in 1941. Mr. Chen Guofu was the first president of the Jiangsu Provincial College of Health Policy and Management. The name of the institution was changed to National Jiangsu Medical College in 1938. The college was relocated from Zhenjiang to Nanjing in 1957 and renamed Nanjing Medical College. It was also one of the foremost in China to provide six-year medical education programs and the first to be permitted to issue doctoral and master’s degrees. Nanjing Medical University opened its doors in 1934.
Today, the university features seven doctorate programs at the first level, eleven master’s programs, and six postdoctoral research centers. The college became Nanjing Medical University in 1993. It is now a major university in Jiangsu Province. In the twenty-first century, the university aspires to be one of the top medical universities in the world, with distinct features and international renown; and it will endeavor to make even more exceptional contributions to medical education.
MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. Campus: The institution has a big campus covering more than 500 acres and provides outstanding campus facilities such as 8 canteens serving International, and Chinese cuisines. Hostels: NMU has distinct hostel facilities for both girls and boys. NMU hostel offers fully equipped hostel rooms with air-conditioned rooms, wifi & internet access, single beds, a study table, a closet, a cabinet with bookshelves, a separate floor for a bathroom, and toilet amenities. Each hostel building contains two separate washing rooms, an exercise room, and a small food store.
Food: Indian food is accessible at Nanjing University for Indian students. There are two main canteens and three cafes/food courts on the Jiangning campus, which is near the student dorms.
Transportation: The university offers transportation for students, with buses and shuttles running between the college premises as well as associated hospitals.
