Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital is a renowned and prestigious medical college in Bihar. This college was established by Sitwanto Devi Mahila Kalyan Sansthan at Amhara, Patna, in 2020. This college offers the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery courses and has an annual intake capacity of 100 students. It was named after the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. It was born out of Chairman Shri M.M. Singh’s inspiration to provide the best medical education for future doctors and nurture their growth. The college is affiliated with the Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. Further it is also approved by the NMC(National Medical Commission). Dr. P K Kasar is the current dean of the college.

What is the criteria for admission?

All seats are allocated through BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board) counseling, which is conducted by the Bihar government. This is based on the merit obtained in the Undergraduate National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG-NEET). The admissions process is transparent, and deserving candidates are admitted to medical colleges in Bihar. 

What is the total duration of the MBBS course?

The total duration of the course is 54 months. 

What is the age limit to get admission to a medical college?

The candidate must be 17 years old at the time of admission, on or before December 31st of the year of admission. The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years as of the examination date. There is a 5-year relaxation for candidates from the OBC, SC, and ST categories.
