About Colllege

With the approval of the Medical Council of India and the Central Government, the Trust opened Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, in  Chikkarayapuram, Near Mangadu, Chennai-600 069 from the academic year 2010–2011, with an annual intake of 150 students in MBBS Course. This institute is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

The 15600 square meter college building is made of a ground floor and six more floors. The College building houses all of the Pre-clinical and Para-clinical departments. The phrase “Quality in Education” serves as the college slogan, and the administration spares no effort to fulfill it. The faculty members also ensure that the students develop themselves outside the classroom for complete personality development.

MBBS Course

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.
