JSS Medical College, Mysore, is a well-known medical college in Karnataka, India. It was established in 1984 and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The college is located in a serene and picturesque location, surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty.

The founder of JSS Medical College is Sri Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, who was a visionary and philanthropist. He founded the college intending to provide quality medical education to students from different parts of the country. The college is named after his guru, Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha, a spiritual and educational institution he founded in 1954.

The first Dean of JSS Medical College was Dr. B. Suresh, who served from 1984 to 1992. He was a renowned physician and academician who shaped the college’s curriculum and policies. JSS Medical College has a rich history of academic excellence and research. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various medical disciplines.

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college. The basic course structure includes studying of Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic medicine and Pharmacology. The MBBS undergraduate course runs for 5.5 years with a mandatory Internship training with the affiliated hospitals for the college.
