About College
Gomel State Medical University, located in Gomel, Belarus, was founded in November 1990. Professor Yuri Ivanovich Bandazhevsky, a doctor of medical sciences, served as the director of the university. Igor Olegovich Stoma, a doctor of medical sciences and an associate professor, was appointed head of the Gomel State Medical University in September 2020. Dr. Swetlana. A. Hoduleva is the current dean of the college.
The emergency need for medical personnel in the Gomel and Mogilev regions arised by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident. Also, it occurred due to the requirement for conducting scientific research to analyze the medical effects of the disaster and identify solutions. This ultimately led to the establishment of the university.
Nineteen large clinics with cutting-edge equipment are used as the foundation for training. Since the university’s founding, a highly qualified team has been assembled that is equipped to undertake scientific research, educate medical professionals to the appropriate level, and offer population health care and advice.
The university’s clinical base is among the best in the Republic of Belarus. Here, the most cutting-edge medical technologies are utilized to diagnose and treat problems related to the endocrine, cardiovascular, immune, hematological, ophthalmic, and oncological systems.
The Gomel State Medical University’s primary research activities include conducting basic, applied, and contract research, organizing and hosting scientific conferences and seminars,. This also includes training personnel with the highest levels of scientific training, organizing a student scientific society and the Council of Young Scientists, invention and innovation, and publishing scientific literature.

MBBS is the undergraduate medical course taught in medical college.
